Who We Are

This ministry is named for my daughter Amanda Russell.
Amanda died in November of 2006 from a Heroin
overdose at the young age of 18.  Although the drug
took her body, it did not take her soul, her life continues
in this ministry for her hope was and is that everyone no
matter who they are, no matter what they have done, no
matter what mistakes they have made in their life can
walk the path of recovery with God (Higher Power) and
experience God’s transforming grace and love.  A love
and grace that transforms suffering to blessing.

My name is Mike Russell; I am her father as well as an
addict/alcoholic who is living in God’s transforming love
and grace.  Using the 12 step model, I have found
restoration and freedom, from not only my disease of
addiction, but also from the grief of losing a child at such
a young age.

As a pastor for fourteen years and spiritual therapist in
drug and alcohol recovery practices, I have been
blessed with the gift of using my own strength,
experience, and hope to guide others in spiritual,
physical, and emotional recovery from their disease of
addiction.  Through Preaching, Teaching, Counseling,
and Therapy we worked to bring not only the
alcoholic/addict towards healing, but we minister to equip
others to bring this wonderful hope to the afflicted.

I am in recovery myself.

I served in the United Methodist Church as a pastor for
14 years.

For the last 10 years I have worked as a spiritual
therapist in various treatment facilities.

Education:
Masters of Divinity from Palmer Seminary (AKA Eastern
Baptist Theological Seminary) 1999,
Bachelors of Science from Southern Illinois University,
Carbondale, IL, 1989.

I have been married to my wife Kelly for 21 years and
we have one surviving daughter Samantha who is 15.
